Chakra Test: Finding Blocked Chakras with a Pendulum

chakra test with a pendulum

This is a really simple chakra test with a pendulum! This article will cover 2 different ways to conduct a pendulum chakra test looking for blocked chakras; one requiring another person, and one you can do on your own.

It’s helpful to know if you have blocked chakras, because then you can work on healing them. Having them all open is really helpful for spiritual growth and day to day life.

This is something one of my friends and I did one of the first days I had my pendulum. And the chakras that were blocked made so much sense with how my daily life was going, and problems I was having. With this knowledge I was then able to open them and move forward!

Before you begin

A few things before you begin: Make sure you are connected with your pendulum! If you’re not this will give you results that might not be accurate. The article How to Ask your Pendulum Questions has good tips for starting a pendulum session.

Make sure you have a notebook out or something to write out the answers of this session for further use and exploration, maybe light some candles or have music in the background.

Not sure what the chakras are or want a little more depth? This is a really informative article: Understanding Chakras and How to Unblock Them. This article will also be helpful to work with once you’ve discovered which chakras are blocked.

Use your pendulum to conduct a chakra test - either on yourself or another person! A few simple steps.

Testing if your chakras are out of balance with another person

1. Determine which way the pendulum will move for a blocked chakra.

  • You can do this in a few ways – either ask your pendulum to show you what a blocked chakra looks like, and open. This may be one swinging clockwise, back and forth, and the other not moving at all. Just remember to write it down so you don’t forget!
  • Or program your pendulum – gently swing the pendulum one direction (maybe back and forth) and say “this is a blocked chakra” and have it not move at all for an open chakra. Then ask your pendulum to show you what you just programmed.

2. If you’re able to work with another person for this exercise, have the person who’s chakras are being tested lie flat on the floor. The other person will hold the pendulum over various parts of the body.

3. Starting at the root chakra (close to your hips/groin region), hold the pendulum a comfortable distance away from the person lying on the floor. Ask for your pendulum (in your head or out loud) to let you know if the chakra is blocked or open. Then either write down or remember what the pendulum did.

4. Continue this chakra test until all of them have been checked.

Where to hold the pendulum for testing the chakras

  • Root – at groin/hips
  • Sacral – at belly button
  • Solar Plexus – at ribs
  • Heart – over heart
  • Throat – over the throat
  • Third eye – center of forehead
  • Crown – just past the top of the head

5. Once you’ve determined the blocked chakras, research what you can do to open them (read more below). Then test again after a few weeks!

Chakra Test with a Pendulum by Yourself

It’s also easy to perform a chakra test by yourself with your pendulum too!

1. Try to have crystals that are the color of each chakra, or there are even crystals with the specific symbol on them (there are a lot of options on Etsy)!

  • If you can’t, try to write them down/draw out the symbols on paper that you can then ask. Or use a pendulum chart (get a downloadable one for $2.50 here!)

2. Determine which way the pendulum will move for a blocked chakra

  • Either ask your pendulum to show you what a blocked chakra looks like, and open. This may be swinging clockwise, back and forth, no movement. So long as you can tell the difference you’re all set! Just remember to write it down so you don’t forget!
  • Or program your pendulum – gently swing the pendulum one direction (maybe back and forth) and say “this is a blocked chakra” and have it not move at all for an open chakra. Then ask your pendulum to show you what you just programmed.

3. Hold your pendulum above the objects of choice that represent your chakras. Ask your pendulum if the chakra is blocked or open. Write the answers down!
