The High Priestess Tarot Card Meaning

the high priestess tarot card

The next person we meet on this journey is the high priestess. She is the embodiment of intuition. Of looking internally and finding within. The high priestess tarot card is the idea to use your third eye and connect with higher spirits. To meditate and think about what’s happening within.

A Full Explanation

The High Priestess tarot card typically represents a feminine religious leader, compared to the hierophant, a masculine figure in religion. But the high priestess is not exclusively about religion, it is more about searching within. This is a card reminding you to look inside and seek the answers within. The answers are inside of you. Only once you search yourself for the answers, will you come to find what you’re looking for.

When you find this card in a reading, it’s a reminder that you find yourself and the answers by looking within, rather than seeking externally. If you’re having a hard time, this could be a nudge to meditate, or find another way into your own thoughts and deep inner conscience. This is a time to connect with your intuition, and trust instincts.

If you’re struggling with finding the answer, center yourself. Take time away from others. Don’t look externally for the answers. You may have been ignoring your instincts for too long. Try to connect with the universe during your centering and meditation.

The high priestess I have as a third eye with the crown chakra as the iris, combining these two chakras in this card. Many tarot decks have a woman between 2 pillars, with many symbols of religion on the card (like in The Modern Witch Tarot Deck). I took this in a different direction. The meaning still stays similar. Where the third eye is intuition, the crown chakra is for spirituality. So it’s a combination of intuitive sight and connecting with the spirit. Other Thoughts

Another idea if this card appears is to check and see if your chakras are blocked, especially if you are having difficulties looking within. I have a guide on how to check using your pendulum you can read here if you’d like!

If this card appears and you are still struggling, try to meditate with either crown chakra crystals or third eye chakra crystals!
