Can you wear a pendulum as a necklace? The easiest answer is yes, you probably can wear your pendulum as a necklace! But as always, it depends on a few factors. This is also great if you choose to purchase a necklace and then use it as a pendulum.

Necklaces can often make great pendulums, so it would make sense that you might want to use one as a pendulum and also wear it! Or just change the chain on a different pendulum you currently have to make it wearable.
There are definitely pros and cons to wearing a pendulum, which I’ll explain after my experience with a pendulum necklace.
Personal Experience With A Necklace Pendulum
I was in the store and found this beautiful necklace with a clear quartz sphere in it and the necklace ends in a point. And I knew it was going to be my next pendulum after asking it a few questions in the store (read here how to choose a pendulum!)
When I got it home, I did a pendulum interview and found out this necklace is great for creative projects. Often I’ll ask it questions in the middle of writing something.
But what I like the most about it is that I can wear this pendulum necklace as I work on a project, or as I sit here writing this post. Then I am guided by the energy of the pendulum without having to ask it small, minute questions the entire time, and can quickly remove it for a question if I have one.
Pros For Wearing a Pendulum as a Necklace
As mentioned above, it can really help you with connecting and channeling the energy of the pendulum without asking it a lot of questions. You may feel a closer connection to your pendulum.
It can be beneficial to wear some pendulums as a necklace for this very reason! As they are not only here to assist you by answering questions asked, but also by the energy you can feel from holding the object close to your heart.
Cons For Wearing a Pendulum as a Necklace
There are 2 big cons for can you wear a pendulum as a necklace, but it really just depends on your pendulum!
As mentioned in can you overuse a pendulum, some energies from pendulums might be too much to be around for lengthy periods of times. It may be harmful for you to have that close of contact with your pendulum.
The other con for wearing a pendulum as a necklace is if the pendulum didn’t come with a chain that makes it a pendulum. So then you have to decide if the pendulum will change if you switch out the chain, and if it’s worth it or not.
How To Decide to Wear A Pendulum as a Necklace
So can you wear a pendulum as a necklace? Why not ask your pendulum about it! The only way you’re definitively going to know is to ask your pendulum. Asking permission is such an easy way to determine without negative consequences or side effects.
Ideas on questions to ask for permission:
- “All things considered, is it optimal for me to wear this pendulum as a necklace?”
- “Is it okay for me to wear this pendulum as a necklace today?” (or for a longer period of time)
If you need to change the chain to wear it as a necklace:
- “All things considered, is it optimal for me to wear this pendulum as a necklace?” (Ask first before going through the process of finding a new chain)
- “All things considered, is it optimal for me to change the chain on this pendulum?”
- then ask about what type of chain, is it optimal for the chain to be a string, gold, silver, copper, steel?
- “Will the energy change on this pendulum if I use a different chain?”
- Is it still optimal then to change the chain?
(Read why I’ve written out these questions this way here in how to ask your pendulum questions)
To answer the question of can you wear a pendulum as a necklace, it’s likely okay! You could even buy a necklace to use as a pendulum also and then just go back and forth, or use the necklace when you need it.
But remember the easiest way to know for certain is to ask your pendulum! Have any other questions? Find many topics answered here at Pendulums 101!
